New legislation would mint 400,000 legal-tender silver dollars bearing Kirk’s likeness, making him the youngest American ever placed on U.S. currency.
In a sweeping tribute to conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the U.S. House is poised to approve the “Charlie Kirk Commemorative Coin Act”, directing the United States Mint to mint 400,000 silver-dollar coins in 2026 bearing his image and the inscription “Well done, good and faithful servant.” The legislation is backed by Representatives Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) and August Pfluger (R-TX), who say the coin offers permanent recognition for Kirk’s influence on American youth and conservative politics.
If signed into law, Kirk — who passed away on September 10, 2025 — would become the youngest person ever depicted on legal U.S. currency, joining a select group of figures honored with special-issue coins. The proposed coin design would include Kirk’s full name, the year “2026,” and the U.S. motto “In God We Trust.”
The push comes in the wake of Kirk’s leadership of the student-networking organization Turning Point USA and his role in national conservative activism. Supporters say the coin underscores his legacy and the impact of his work. Critics, however, have questioned whether a figure still so recently active merits such commemoration.
Under the bill, the coins would be minted at no cost to taxpayers, with production funded through sales to collectors. Final design approval would rest with the Mint and the sitting President. As Congress moves toward passage, the coin’s release is expected to generate considerable attention from collectors and political observers alike.
